DTS500 Z-Axis CNC Tool Setter with 50 mm Contact Pad

DTS500 Z-axis contact CNC tool setter supports automatic tool length measurement and programmed tool checks. It features a Ø50 mm tungsten carbide pad, repeatability below 1 μm (2σ) at 50 mm/min, an 11 mm axial stroke, normally open output and IP68 protection.

DTS500 is a wired Z-axis contact tool setter designed for automatic tool length measurement and offset setting on CNC machining centers. Its Ø50 mm tungsten carbide contact pad detects tool contact along the +Z direction, providing a trigger signal to a compatible CNC controller through a normally open (NO) output.

The DTS500 specifies repeatability below 1 μm (2σ) at a probing speed of 50 mm/min. A 0.7 mm pre-stroke, 11 mm axial stroke and 5.5 mm trigger protection distance define the published contact movement characteristics. The unit also features IP68 sealing and a 5 m oil-resistant, six-core cable for wired integration.

Its larger contact pad offers a distinct option within Qidu’s Z-axis tool setter range, although tool compatibility depends on geometry and measurement approach. With appropriate controller inputs and macros, the DTS500 can support tool length verification and basic breakage checks. Qidu provides assistance with mounting, wiring, calibration and machine integration.
