DTS200C is a compact, wired Z-axis CNC tool setter developed for automatic tool length measurement, offset setting and programmed tool checks. Its Ø20 mm tungsten carbide contact pad detects tool contact along the +Z direction, sending a trigger signal through a normally open (NO) output to a compatible CNC controller.

The DTS200C specifies repeatability below 1 μm (2σ) at a probing speed of 50 mm/min. A 0.7 mm pre-stroke, 8.5 mm axial stroke and 5.5 mm trigger protection distance define its published mechanical movement characteristics. The cylindrical housing and round mounting base provide an alternative installation layout to rectangular tool setter designs.

A 5 m oil-resistant, six-core cable and IP68 sealing support use in suitable machining environments. With the required CNC macros, the DTS200C can support tool offset verification and basic tool breakage checks. Qidu provides guidance on mounting, wiring, calibration and controller integration.

  • What is the DTS200C CNC tool setter used for?

The DTS200C is a compact Z-axis contact tool setter designed for automatic tool length measurement, tool offset setting and programmed tool checks on CNC machining centers. With compatible CNC macros, it can also support tool length verification and basic tool breakage detection.

  • What is the repeatability of the DTS200C?

The DTS200C provides specified repeatability below 1 μm (2σ) at a measurement speed of 50 mm/min. Repeatability indicates measurement consistency under defined test conditions rather than absolute measurement accuracy.

  • What is the difference between DTS200C and DTS200?

Both models use a 20 mm tungsten carbide contact pad, normally open electrical output and specified repeatability below 1 μm (2σ) at 50 mm/min.

The DTS200C has a compact cylindrical construction and an 8.5 mm axial stroke, while the DTS200 uses a rectangular housing and has an 11 mm axial stroke. Their mounting arrangements also differ.

  • Can the DTS200C measure tool diameter?

The DTS200C is specified for +Z triggering and is designed primarily for tool length measurement. It should not be described as a multidirectional tool setter for direct X/Y contact measurement.

For automatic tool length and diameter measurement, Qidu provides multidirectional products such as the DMTS-L and DMTS-R.

  • What is the contact pad material of the DTS200C?

The DTS200C features a tungsten carbide contact pad with a specified diameter of 20 mm. Tungsten carbide provides high hardness and wear resistance for repeated tool-setting contact.

  • What is the axial stroke of the DTS200C?

The DTS200C has a specified 8.5 mm axial stroke, a 0.7 mm pre-stroke and a 5.5 mm trigger protection distance. These values should be considered when setting the tool approach path and safe stopping limits.

  • How does the DTS200C connect to a CNC controller?

The DTS200C uses a six-core wired connection with a normally open (NO) contact output. Its specified contact rating is DC 24 V at a maximum of 20 mA for a resistive load, with 10 mA recommended. Controller input compatibility and wiring must be verified before installation.

  • Does the DTS200C require batteries or a wireless receiver?

The DTS200C uses hard-wired signal transmission and does not require a wireless receiver. The supplied specification does not identify a battery configuration for this model.

  • Does the DTS200C support air cleaning?

The product photographs show an air nozzle and pneumatic connection. However, the supplied technical sheet does not establish the required air pressure or whether the complete air-cleaning assembly is standard. These details should be confirmed for the ordered configuration.

  • Is the DTS200C compatible with FANUC and Siemens CNC controllers?

Qidu provides integration support for major CNC control platforms, including FANUC and Siemens. Compatibility with a specific DTS200C installation requires confirmation of the controller input interface, NO output configuration, measurement macros and machine operating conditions.
