DNC86 Non-Contact Laser Tool Setter for CNC Machines

DNC86 non-contact laser tool setter measures CNC tool diameters from Ø0.06 to 80 mm. It offers below 1 μm (2σ) repeatability, a 680 nm laser, IP68 sealing, 24 V DC supply, an 8 m shielded cable and adjustable beam alignment.

DNC86 is a non-contact laser tool setter for CNC machining centers, designed to support automated cutting tool measurement without contact with the measuring device. Its opposing optical heads form a laser beam that detects a tool as it enters the measuring zone. With compatible CNC software, this signal can be used for tool length and diameter setting and programmed broken-tool checks.

The DNC86 accommodates tool diameters from 0.06 to 80 mm and has specified repeatability below 1 μm (2σ). Its optical system uses a 680 nm laser with output power below 1 mW. The mounting base permits beam alignment during installation, while a 6 mm pneumatic connection supports an air supply within the specified 43–87 psi range.

Designed for integration into CNC machine tools, the unit uses 24 V DC power and an 8 m oil-resistant, shielded eight-core cable. Its aluminum housing has an IP68 sealing rating. Qidu provides assistance with installation, electrical connections, controller compatibility, measurement macros and commissioning.
