DNC168 Non-Contact Laser Tool Setter for CNC Machines

DNC168 non-contact laser tool setter measures CNC tools from Ø0.1 to 160 mm. It features <1 μm (2σ) repeatability, a 680 nm laser, IP68 sealing, 24 V DC power, 8 m shielded cable and adjustable beam alignment.

DNC168 is a non-contact laser tool setter designed for automatic cutting-tool measurement on CNC machining centers. Its opposing optical heads create a laser measuring zone that detects a tool without requiring contact with a sensing pad. When connected to compatible CNC software, the system supports programmed tool length and diameter measurement, tool presence checks and broken-tool detection.

With a specified tool diameter measurement range of Ø0.1–160 mm, the DNC168 is the largest-capacity model in Qidu’s DNC56, DNC86 and DNC168 series. Published repeatability is below 1 μm (2σ), which describes performance under defined test conditions rather than absolute measurement accuracy.

The DNC168 uses a 680 nm laser with output power below 1 mW. Installation provisions include adjustable beam alignment, a 6 mm pneumatic supply connection and an 8 m oil-resistant, shielded eight-core cable. Its aluminum housing is rated IP68, and the stated power supply is 24 V DC. Qidu offers guidance on controller integration, measurement macros, installation and commissioning.
